In 2006, we analyzed existing state laws related to indoor tanning, including whether the law limited access by youth.

We evaluated the stringency of all existing state laws, and the range of possible stringency scores was 0 to 100. States without a law were given a 0.

Over one-half of U.S. states had a state indoor tanning law, and most of these included a youth access restriction.
